THE PUDDLE DUCKS

Bankhall’s qualified ‘Early Years Teacher’ knows the importance of learning through play. She focuses on the broad, balanced ‘Early Years Foundation Stage’ framework that prepares children for primary school.

That means creating opportunities for children to learn in a happy, relaxed and safe environment, providing planned and continuous activities that help children to reach their full potential – including:

  • sand and water
  • a quiet book-corner
  • a home corner with dressing up for imagination and role play
  • construction and ‘small world’ areas
  • painting, craft materials and ‘play dough’ for extra media.

Children develop skills such as speaking, listening, persistence, concentration, learning to work together and co-operating with others as well as early reading, writing and numeracy.

Younger children have a touch-screen computer with programs that encourage technological development while giving hours of fun.

We strive, wherever possible, to allow individual children the independence to choose their own preferred activities. And our weekly observations on all children, in conjunction with parents and carers, will trace your child’s development and progress.

The pre-classroom opens out to the garden, where the large outside area gives plenty of opportunity for physical play which also extends a child's learning.

We care for your children… because you care about them
